How can I improve my blog?

I’m a teen and I’m trying to make a bit of money from blogging as well as writing about something that I hope other people will enjoy reading. I’ve got a few pages (about half) that are indexed by Google and Yahoo but as it started in June is hasn’t had that many visitors (just look at the hit counter at the bottom of the page). Plus my adsense ads aren’t very relevant, as you will probably see.
I’m just after a few tips to improve my SEO, click through rate and traffic. Thanks

Specific to your Blog

Most of the popular blogs use a lighter background. A lighter background can be easy on the eyes of your visitors.
As your blog is about gaming, invite your own friends who are interested in it and ask them to give you comments. Ask them what more you can add to make it informative (in the gaming sense)
General Guidelines

Be part of a community – commet (don’t spam) on other similar blogs
Speak your own – Write in your own words
Market your blog – use the URL on your email signatures
Update – Keep posting on a regular basis.
Connect with users – encourage comments and answer them.
Increasing CTR

Your CTR depends mainly on these factors:
Colour of your ads
Choose colours that blend with your blog. Make them easy to read.
The formats of your ads
Choose wider formats so that users don’t ignore your ads altogether.
The position of the ads
Place them above the fold and at the end of the articles. Link units can perfoem good on the side bars. Use the google golden triangle to find good positions.
