Opinions on moving my static site to wordpress?
Hello,
I have a website that is #1 on google for a few of my keywords, and some are on the first and second page. I make a fair income from this site.
My question is, I really want to move the site to wordpress with a new layout. I find working in WP so much easier and I know that I would update it more and work on it more if it were in WP. I also think that the SEO aspect of WP would benefit my other keywords.
I plan on using the same meta tags and the same content for my higher ranked pages.
I am a little nervous about moving, but think that I will benefit me in the long run. But since it’s doing so well with Adsense, I’m a little nervous.
So I guess I’m just looking for opinions before I make the move!

Before making the move permanent, I would start making the WP site under its own directory for now before you migrate it. You really need to pay attention to how you do this as anything totally new will not maintain your current page rank. I suggest you read the SEO material available to see how best to do this and maintain your Google listing.
