Some basic SEO questions.?
I am new to SEO, I know some of the basics such as longer descriptive titles, Meta descriptions and keywords. However that’s about the extent of my SEO knowledge right now.
I found a site before that gave recommendations to how long titles and meta tags should be, but I cannot find it anymore. I am wondering what a good length for a page title and meta tags are?
Also any additional advice on how to make a site more SEO friendly would be helpful, such as keyword info and link backs, etc.
Your page title should be 70 characters(letters and spaces combined) or less.
The only meta tag that the popular search engines currently evaluate is the “description” meta tag.
I don’t have much time right now but, you will find more on meta tags and other basic SEO info. in my answers to the two YahooAnswers questions that I have referenced below.
